What counts toward usage?
We bill the duration of the original recording, rounded up to the next whole second per request. Free seconds are used first. Remaining seconds use your prepaid balance at the price shown when the request is accepted. Charges are calculated to the next millionth of a US dollar. Pending requests reserve their estimated cost; failed requests release that reservation.
A successful response can contain an empty transcript, including for audio without recognizable speech. That is a completed transcription. Repeating an accepted request with the same idempotency key and identical input returns the same job without a second charge.
For example, a successful 60-second recording costs $0.025 after your free allowance. Payment-provider fees are not added as a separate surcharge. Any applicable tax must be disclosed before payment.
