Terms of service.

Effective November 5, 2026. These terms cover the Bessel Scribe public Beta.

Accounts and permitted use

Use an email address you control, protect your credentials, and upload only recordings you have the right to process. You retain ownership of your content and authorize the processing needed to perform your requests. Do not bypass usage limits, share trial accounts to obtain extra free allowance, disrupt the service or attempt to access another user's information.

Pricing and prepaid credits

Transcription costs $1.50 per source audio hour, in US dollars. Each accepted recording is rounded up to one whole second. New verified accounts receive a one-time five-minute trial; free capacity across the service is limited to 60 audio minutes per UTC day. Additional prepaid credits start at $10. There is no automatic renewal or subscription.

Pending jobs reserve allowance and estimated cost. Successful jobs, including valid empty transcripts, settle that reservation; failed jobs release it. Network timeouts do not cancel an accepted job. The same idempotency key with identical audio recovers the original job without a second charge. Prices are fixed when a job is accepted. Prepaid credit has no scheduled expiry. Contact support for unused-credit refunds or billing disputes; approved refunds are reconciled with your balance.

Beta scope

The service supports English WAV and FLAC recordings up to five minutes and 24 MiB. Transcripts are normalized and may contain errors. Review them before relying on them, especially for consequential decisions. Capacity, performance and availability can vary during Beta; no uptime commitment is offered. We may restrict abusive accounts and will communicate material service or pricing changes through the service or account email.
